Li-Ling Lin, Ph.D.

Dr. Lin is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Director for Lin Psychological Services. She has over 15 years of clinical experience and has completed extensive training for evidence-based treatments that are the gold standard of care. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of Post-traumatic stress disorder, sleep difficulties, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Lin also has special interest and experience working with cultural and ethnic issues, including race-related stress and experiences with racism and discrimination, racial and ethnic identity, acculturation, intergenerational trauma, and the immigrant family experience. She is passionate about providing care for Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) and the LGBTQ+ communities.
Dr. Lin completed her doctorate at the Counseling Psychology program at the University at Albany - State University of New York in 2011. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Syracuse Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. She then completed her postdoctoral residency at the Spark M. Matsunaga Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Lin then worked as a staff psychologist at the Jennifer Moreno Department of Affairs Medical Center in San Diego for 11 years in various positions in outpatient mental health and telemental health.
Dr. Lin is a certified provider for Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR).
Dr. Lin speaks both English and conversational Mandarin Chinese. She is 1.5 generation Taiwanese-American (born in Taiwan, immigrated to the US as a child). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and rescue dog Remy, whom you’ll likely meet if you see Dr. Lin through telemental health video appointments (He likes to “supervise” in the background).
