Some PPO insurance does reimbursements while others do not. Good Faith Estimate

Since January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers are required to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) to all patients who either do not have insurance or choose not to use health insurance to pay for their medical services. The GFE includes total expected costs for the scheduled health care services, including facilities fees, hospital fees, and room and board provided by the provider or facility. The law requires that patients be provided with an estimate within 1 business day if they scheduled for the medical service at least 3 business days in advance. Patients can also request for an estimate prior to scheduling for care. Providers must then give the estimate within 3 business days. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Lin Psychological Services will provide an estimate for those who chose to pay out-of-pocket for sessions. The estimate will be total expected costs for engaging in weekly sessions for one year, in order to comply with this regulation. Please note that most clients at Lin Psychological Services will be completing treatment under a year.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
